Tip #2: Designate a Champion - Adopting OnePlace

Posted by Dana Larson on August 30, 2010

It seem that, across the board, the success or failure of team collaboration adoption into the well-known business processes hangs on one factor - a designated “champion” in the office. This person, if assigned, can help push the idea and benefits of team collaboration to others in the business.

At OnePlace, we recommend designating a champion on the team right from the start. This would be someone, possibly the person who first approaches the idea of business collaboration, who understands the concept and embraces the benefits. This person can then help head up research, implementation, training and adoption of the collaboration solution to improve their business processes. This person can also serve as the go-to person for questions relating to the new solution, and can help work on solutions with the collaboration tool developers to improve usage for everyone.

It’s important to find the right person to be the champion, and be willing to aid the team in accepting a better collaboration process. This person is an integral part in the success of failure of the solution. When someone is helping others learn OnePlace, and helping to educate the team on the benefits, everyone else will follow along as well.
