OnePlace is the Solution for Valencia Learning Technology & Alternate Delivery
Posted by Dana Larson on August 18, 2010
We’ve seen a huge increase in the amount of schools using OnePlace lately, and we absolutely love it! With a new school year right around the corner, we are feeling the back to school hype as well, and are continuing to offer OnePlace free of charge to schools and educational organizations as well as non-profits.
The newest addition to our Giving Back program is Valencia Community College of Orlando, FL. Their Learning Technology & Alternate Delivery team provides collegewide support to all faculty, staff and students for integrating technology into the curriculum. Most of their workload comes in terms of supporting faculty with the creation, adaptation and implementation of course materials for online instruction. There is a team of 14 individuals who are responsible for simple projects like creating logos & graphics to video production requests for full online streaming video.
They also have a nightmare paper system which they have been unable to scale up to the demand of those they support and communication issues often occur. And because they are non-profit and the faculty, staff and students use their services at no charge, traditional project management software doesn’t quite work for them. They need a system that can handle large projects and simple tasks to keep track of who is responsible for which item, and to show faculty the progress of the project request workflow. This is exactly what OnePlace will be able to provide them.
OnePlace is proud to welcome Valencia Community College to our Giving Back program, and we look forward to working with them to help provide the best technological support to their staff and students in years to come.
