Successful Collaboration Comes From Successful Implementation

So you’ve heard about how great business collaboration can be - fantastic! You’re right, too, because collaboration between teammates, clients and customers can have a great impact on the success of your business. But you need to take the necessary steps in order to make that collaboration successful.

What you need to make sure you do first and foremost is successfully implement the collaboration process into your business. Your team - from the business leaders down to the interns - need to accept collaboration and have these processes ingrained into their very core.

I know that sounds intense, but it’s what you need to do to collaborate successfully - implement collaboration successfully.

Here are a few tips to help guide you through the process.

1. Agree on the solution
When testing team collaboration solutions and software, involve other members of your team in the trial process. Gather everyone’s feedback and look to find a solution that meets most - if not all - of their needs. Then, as a group, decide on which solution is best for the team and how you want to collaborate. This will let other team members know their input is valuable, and they will feel proud of choosing the solution to help grow the success of the business.

2. Take baby steps toward the deadline
If you’re still used to using email and face-to-face meetings for most of your collaboration, it might take some time to move all collaboration into the online solution you’ve chosen. Outline a plan and take small steps toward full implementation. Start by collaborating only with one team first, or by sharing and commenting on documents before holding online conversations. These small steps make the full implementation seem less overwhelming, and can help your team iron out processes along the way.

3. Make it fun!
We are human after all, and like to have a little fun in our day. When you first start bringing your people into the collaboration solution, have fun with it! Create discussions around an upcoming event, or what a coworker should name their baby that’s due in four months. Update files together with everyone making photo edits to a picture of a team member or a cartoon character. This will allow everyone to have fun while learning the different functionality of your new collaboration solution.

Once you’ve successfully implemented your collaboration process and solution, you’ll be able to work together as a team and produce quality work for your business. Just make sure you’ve taken the steps to implement collaboration correctly in your business, and watch how quickly your success can grow.
