Use File Sharing as a Unique Team Collaboration Solution

Posted by Dana Larson on February 18, 2010

We truly believe that a strong team collaboration solution is the key to a growing small business. Collaboration and communication are the cornerstones for bringing team members together on projects and improving business success.

OnePlace offers many different features that aid teams in working together on projects. One of our more unique team collaboration solutions is our file sharing feature.

With OnePlace file sharing, you and your team can upload files of any type to workplaces, projects, tasks and discussions. The files are stored here securely, so you don’t have to worry about them if your computer crashes. This is also a great way to share files with other team members without having to email large documents back and forth.

But once the files are uploaded is when the real fun begins.

Users can comment on files, and subscribe others to the comments. This way, if someone has a question about a document or spreadsheet that was uploaded, they can ask it to the correct person, and be notified once a response is given.

OnePlace also allow you to track multiple versions of a file. This is important when you need to keep track of who did what and when to a file. This includes the ability to check a file in/out, which provides a workflow for team members to collaborate on the same file. One team member can upload a PowerPoint presentation, and another one can check it out, edit it, and check it back in, ensuring that everyone on the team always has the most up-to-date version.

By improving the channels of team collaboration, OnePlace is improving the overall effectiveness of communication that happens in your business. This communication will positively impact the success of your business, too.

What are some of your favorite collaboration features - within OnePlace or elsewhere? We’d love to hear them!
