Top 5 Most Loved OnePlace Features

Posted by Dana Larson on February 12, 2010

In honor of Valentine’s Day coming up this Sunday, the OnePlace team wanted to share how much we love and care about our customers and their success. We thrive off of your feedback to keep making OnePlace better and better.

And OnePlace users love us too - below is a list of the Top 5 most loved OnePlace features that keep our customers successful in their personal and professional lives.

Online Project Management - OnePlace’s rich project management capabilities allow users to organize projects hierarchically, so you can create a deep project structure if needed. Each project also has a dashboard view, giving status information on the completeness of the project.

Task Management - Within OnePlace, users can focus on all tasks at once, or narrow in on tasks belonging to a specific project or workplace. Tasks can also be scheduled, because part of being productive is identifying what you should work on now, and what can wait until later.

Discussions for Team Collaboration - Discussions allow team members to hold ongoing conversations online. And because OnePlace automatically refreshes a discussion, it can be used to communicate like instant messaging - but all your posts are saved for future reference.

File Sharing - Files can be uploaded to OnePlace and attached to any workplace, project or task. Everyone within that workplace has instant access to view and download the file, so you never have to email large documents back and forth again. OnePlace also has a file versioning feature, allowing users to check out a file, make edits, and check it back in, ensuring everyone has access to the most recent version.

Team Pulse - Similar to Twitter, Team Pulse gives OnePlace users the ability to communicate directly with other users via a “pulse”. With Team Pulse, you can share an update to all workplace members, or just one teammate specifically. Team Pulse is also updated whenever your status changes or you begin and complete a task, allowing project managers to stay up to date on their team’s activity.

We know you are enjoying these top 5 features, because we see a huge amount of activity on them every day! But what are some of your other favorite features not listed here? Please share with us below, and Happy Valentine’s Day!

It might be odd to comment on our own blog (I am one of the founders of OnePlace) but I wanted to chime in.

Hard to pick a favorite feature but if I was forced I would have to say it is the the ability to schedule my tasks. I have been accused of having being a little ADHD in me. (a good/bad thing) The ability to plan out what I am going to do when and then focusing on a days worth of tasks has increased my personal productivity at least double.

A corollary to this is that I can keep the tasks from all the facets my life (work, family, hobbies, charity work...) in OnePlace ensures that nothing is getting lost in the cracks of life. It is not only important to get things done but to also not forget anything important. If you are not scheduling your work like you are appointments then you are missing out on one HUGE secret to serenity and productivity.

Cheers, Steve
