Achieve a Better Connected Workplace

Is your workplace connected? Do your employees work together? Are they communicating about the work they are completing? If not, you may want to think about working to connect your office a bit more.
The idea of teamwork and business collaboration is getting a lot of attention lately, as the benefits of improved workplace communications and connections are proven over and over again. So, how do you go about connecting your office and your team on a more productive level?
Here are a few tips for creating a better connected office.
Don’t Let Them Hide
Your team should not hide behind their office doors, their cubicle walls or their headphones. By keeping your office open and allowing communication to flow more easily and without any roadblocks, your team will be able to talk together and build on their connections in your professional setting.
Enjoy Fun Together
Company parties and activities go a long way toward improving team morale and connections. Enjoy a bi-weekly barbecue in the summers, a holiday party in the winter and a couple fun team building activities each year to keep your team connected.
Create Team Projects
Make it mandatory that your team work on projects together. Get them in a room to work so they know how to build off of one another’s ideas and processes to create the best outcome possible. This type of training will improve them individually, plus ensure your business has the right staff to continue the teamwork into the future.
Communicate About Non-Work Things
Just because you’re in the office doesn’t mean you have to only talk about work-related stuff. Enjoy some conversations about weekend plans, future baby names for a pregnant coworker or ideal vacation destinations. These help lighten the mood in the office and can help build up camaraderie between teammates.
When your team is better connected, the work they complete is going to be of higher quality. Your clients and customers will appreciate your team for their work and their communication style, and you’ll see increased business success.
